Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 23, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how International Career Insights (the “Site”) collects, uses, stores and protects personal data. The Site is an independent editorial project operated by Yana Stafichuk under Women & Work. If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us at sedunkova@gmail.com.

Data controller

Yana Stafichuk, operating as International Career Insights / Women & Work, is the data controller for personal data collected through the Site. The controller decides why and how your personal data is processed.

What personal data we collect

  • Email address — collected when you request the free guide (Global Career Leap 2026) through the lead-capture modal.
  • Entry point — the page or button that led you to request the guide (for example, the homepage, navigation, guide section, or a story page).
  • Usage data — if you consent to analytics, we collect page views, approximate location (country/region), device type, browser, referrer, scrolls and clicks through Google Analytics 4. Your IP address is processed by Google in an abbreviated form before storage.
  • Local storage entries — stored in your browser to remember your cookie choice and whether you have already unlocked the guide.

How we store and share email addresses

When you submit your email, it is stored in a private Google Sheet along with the date of submission, the source label “International Career Insights” and the entry point that led you to the form. The sheet is accessible only to the editor of this Site.

We do not sell, rent or trade your email address. The only third party that processes your email on our behalf is Google LLC in its role as provider of Google Sheets, which is bound by appropriate data-protection safeguards.

Google Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles and stories are useful to readers. The Google Analytics script and cookies are loaded only after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you click “Decline” or ignore the banner, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookies are set.

When analytics is enabled, Google may process data outside your country of residence, including the United States, under standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.

International data transfers

Google LLC, the provider of Google Analytics and Google Sheets, may process personal data in countries outside the European Economic Area. Google relies on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and other approved transfer safeguards for these transfers.

Retention period

Email addresses are kept for as long as the project is active or until you ask us to delete them. Local storage entries remain in your browser until you clear site data. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google’s own policies.

Your rights under GDPR

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your email and any associated records.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from updates or change your cookie choice at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing already carried out.

To exercise any right, email sedunkova@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

Data deletion requests

If you want your email removed from our Google Sheet, email sedunkova@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and the email address you submitted. We will confirm deletion once it is complete.

Security

We restrict access to the Google Sheet to the editor of the Site. We use TLS to protect data in transit and we do not store passwords or payment information. No method of online transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Site’s functionality changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
